Located at the confluence of the Ter and Freser rivers, the town was built around the Benedictine monastery of Santa María de Ripoll, founded around the 9th century. Ripoll is known for the preservation of several Catalan traditions and festivals celebrating its cultural and agricultural heritage, which are spread throughout the year.
The city is relatively outside of the radar of international tourists, which makes it an even better as introduction to the real lifestyle of the Catalan inhabitants. However, there is plenty excitement to be found in this region if you are a nature lover and adventure seeker, as it is the prefect playground for hiking, climbing, skiing, paragliding, etc…
Enjoy the peace and quiet of this region and marvel at the foot of the great mountains that divide us from the rest of Europe.

Camprodon / Llanars
Nestled at the heart of the Girona Pyrenees, with its roots planted in the Garrotxa region, we find the towns of Camprodon and Llanars, an area rich in history and tradition and versatility, where the combination of fauna, scenery, cuisine and natural environment make it a dynamic destination all year round!

Apart from its essentials, which are a must-see on any visit to Camprodon, you will be enchanted by the rich history and architecture of its most emblematic buildings, the landscape and scenery of its spring water fountains, its mountains and nature, and the culture and traditions of its festivals, museums and activities, with a huge variety of activities to keep you busy!

It has wide, open and spacious walkways, and is surrounded by four of the finest dormant volcanoes in the Garrotxa Nature Reserve.
Most of the medieval architecture of the city was destroyed in the 1427 and 1428 earthquakes. The town also has many noble mansions dotted around the town. The nicest streets are around the Placa Major and the Sant Esteve church. Many of the buildings are brightly coloured and beautiful to see. At present, the most remarkable feature of the city is its intense cultural and artistic life.
